Too grassy for the honky tonks and too amplified for the traditional stages, Texas String Assembly has carved out their own niche in Austin’s favorite rock ‘n’ roll clubs. Since forming during the lockdown in 2020, the 7-piece band of five to ten has blended elements of bluegrass, funk, jazz, folk-country, and hippie jugband music, growing from backyards to bars to beloved venues as they cultivated their “mostly acoustic” Americana sound and garnered attention for their electrifying live performances.

That Dog Was A Band Now have been playing with each other since 2013, despite the fact that they are sometimes separated by thousands of miles of distance. Their unique sound-- which is defined by an active accordion, bad-ass banjo, and honest vocals-- has helped them gain a loyal international fanbase. That Dog Was A Band Now has played 4-hour sets in rough & rural American bars, rocked outdoor weddings for big fans in beautiful California Redwood Forests, been given hour-long featured sets on several public radio stations and mainstage slots at major cultural festivals, and popped up as buskers on all sorts of city streets around Canada, Europe, and the USA.
After a brief hiatus, the band spent the Spring of 2016 reunited in California. That June, they hit the road with their debut (self-titled) EP in hand; recorded in Eureka, California with Timmy Gray of Myrtletown Records. They proceeded to tour the USA and Canada from coast to coast, and then back to the first coast, until late September.
Their 2017 tours were sweet, playing in Sweden, Denmark, Amsterdam, Western Canada, and Germany, and recording their first full-length album, which will be released by Santa Rosa Records.

The 45 is a 4-piece, all graduated from the Codarts Conservatory of Rotterdam. They share a love for funk and pop and will be performing covers from Prince, Stevie Wonder, Bruno Mars and many more.

Hailing from the North East of England, this fab 5 piece crew first came to my attention thanks to a barnstorming live set at last year's Kippertronix Festival & they repeated the trick with an equally impressive London International Ska Festival appearance at Easter. The angry in-your-face energy of Almighty Uprisers' live show translates really well into the studio too with 6 kick ass anti-establishment anthems that grab your attention right from the get-go & don't let go for an instant. Highly infectious stuff indeed that fans of The Clash, Dirty Revolution & Culture Shock will really enjoy! The Alternative is a coverband from Rotterdam, The Netherlands. They perform covers by Arctic Monkeys, Muse, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, Volbeat, Jet, Bloc Party, Franz Ferdinand, Nirvana, Queens of the Stone Age, The Black Keys, Blur and more!

Four local musicians have joined forces to bring you the funkiest of the funky. Dance music only seasoned artists, firmly rooted in the fundamental sounds of seventees, eightees and ninetees funk, can deliver.

Lead vocalist and guitar player Alex Manuputty has put this four-piece together. With the help of keyboard player and vocalist Geronimo, bassist Gijs and drummer Bryan, he will bring back the sounds and vibes of James, Curtis, Sly, Prince and Michael, just to name a few. A brand new project, of which The Waterhole is proud to be a part of! So come and dance your legs down to the knees!

Atomic Papas is a Neo-Rockabilly, Country and Rock and Roll trio coming from Tuscany.

The setlist is made by some originals, a cool selection of classics which were released in the golden era of Rockabilly music and some of the middle 80’s revival movement; everything played with an aggressive, “Punky” and “Crunchy” Neorockabilly Sound!!

The Automatic Heroes, a Funkband from Germany, brings the Funky magic of 70s music culture to you. The band plays exclusively own songs and let you dance the night away.

The four musicians play in their shows own compositions in an interesting mix of sophisticated vocals, jazzy and groovy riffs and a big portion of Soul.

The band is looking forward to a great party and many dancing guests at The Waterhole.
