Indianizer (Ita)
More details

Indianizer was born in 2013, sprung from the minds of some psychonauts drawing their
inspirations from Animal Collective's wild frenzies and Django Django's tropical rhytms.
Following two self-financed EPs (Pandas - 2013 and Jungle Beatnik – 2014), their Neon
Hawaii full-length album (Edison Box/PBP – 2015) was released in 2015 – thanks to this
debut album the band toured in Italy and Europe (one of the best 50 albums of 2015
according to Noisey). The new single Mazel Tov II is being released in January 2018 via
Musica Altra, with the support of remixes by Don’t Dj, Passenger and Las Hermanas. The
new Zenith album is being released in spring 2018, via Musica Altra again.

Zenith marks the entrance of a far more personal and self-aware sound that still enshrines
a different approach in composition and arrangement rather then Neon Hawaii: the tracks,
being sung in English, Spanish and an invented language, result from free and wild jam
sessions, with the vocals being addedd later, so to outline unpredictable structures.
Organic, acid, synthetic and space sounds wrapping around a perpetual and obsessive
rhythmic pulse, in the quest for an unreachable catharsis - the emotional intensity peaks
up, reaching its Zenith, and then blows up and flows out in the universe. As if Meridian
Brothers met King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard in the middle of the desert and stared at
the parabolic curve that the sun draws in the sky. Zenith is the search for a perhaps non-
existing cosmic Father, providing love and life just like the Sun does, dispersing shadows
and doubts, but that may destroy everything he has just created, thus becoming
dangerous and mortal, right at the peak of his path.

Inge van Calkar
More details

The creative process is a wonderful thing. You write songs, record them, and all of a sudden you see and hear everything differently. That happened to Inge van Calkar, who we still know of its participation in the best Singer-Songwriter of Netherlands. Taste, style and her approach is gradually changed. Then you can continue on the old way, but the lure of a new direction is much more interesting. She just had to follow that inner voice for the upcoming, second album. The acoustic guitar was exchanged for an electric, while the songs received an electronics injection, which gives them much more suspense.

A first single from the album with the working title Animal, is Different World: a sexy indie pop rocker where Florence undoubtedly would put on her best dress for, and otherwise PJ Harvey certainly. Live, Inge is a similar ' appearance ' in white, albeit not necessarily in a dress. There she is wearing a matching white Fender jazzmaster guitar. Cooool! "That song is about you see the world negatively, if you only look down, ' says van Calkar. ' I'm not depressed by the way, Hi! ' Don't think that this remains, as there is much more in the musical barrel, among other things still tracks written with Bas Kennis from the band Bløf.

Forget for a moment her older work, also that with her old band ZaZa: a former 3FM Serious Talent that performd on DWDD. Not that the music was bad. Far from that! But this new step puts her in one hit in modern times. This is not the fragile singer-songwriter with a hat on, as she expresses so beautifully. No, here is an artist who dares stood up with her music on the cutting edge.
