Deze Amsterdamse zangeres is een ware diva. Op ieder podium straalt Farida Merville in de spotlights. En vanavond is dat podium The Waterhole, als zij een soulvolle show vol funky en poppy muziek speelt, samen met haar vele muzikale compagnons.

Maar Farida Merville heeft haar strepen zeker verdiend. Haar muzikale loopbaan is een waar avontuur. Eind jaren tachtig maakte ze haar debuut, waarna vele, uiteenlopende projecten zouden volgen. Ze werkte met oneindig veel geweldige artiesten, zoals wijlen Thé Lau, Samantha Fox, Quazar en andere coryfeeën uit de jaren negentig. Als solo-artiest bracht ze een aantal albums uit, waaronder Question Mark, haar comeback-plaat uit 2010, dat ze uitbracht op label Chique Records. Vanavond staat zij als vanouds weer in het middelpunt!

Als live- en studio-artiest begeleidde deze persoonlijke vriend van Prince vele artiesten met grote namen: Earth, Wind & Fire, Barry White, Chaka Khan, Billy Cobham, Glenn Tillbrook, Meshell N'dege O'cello, Squeeze, Chuckii Booker, Dwele en vele anderen

Vanavond wordt Aaron begeleid door Joep Berkenbosch op gitaar, Jan van Olffen op bass and Geert Sluijter op drums

Deze 27-jarige muzikant komt uit Essex, Engeland, maar is momenteel thuis in Amsterdam. Door de jaren heen heeft hij aan vele projecten gewerkt. En dat vanaf zijn twaalfde!

Adam Tobit is in staat om een breed palet aan stijlen te spelen. Zijn repertoire komt perfect overeen met de smaak van deze muzikale veelvraat. Nummers uit de jaren vijftig tot aan nu maken deel uit van zijn rijke repertoire. En zoals je mag verwachten van een wonderkind, zingt hij al bijna zijn hele leven. Vanaf zijn zestiende speelt hij al professioneel gitaar. Alsof dat nog niet genoeg was, is hij tegenwoordig ook nog eens percussionist, die ook al een leven lang drumt. Deze man is van alle markten thuis.

The band’s distinct brand of Soul music is a bit less “New York City” and much more “Mississippi River”.
Their sound combines the loose, funky feel of New Orleans R&B along with the visceral power and intensity of East St. Louis’ own Ike & Tina Turner – and they bring it all right to ya with truly inspired original numbers by an undeniable, natural born singer, Al Holliday.
