London five-piece Curse Of Lono recently released their debut album ‘Severed’, a
sumptuously cinematic record that combines harmony-laden Americana with driving,
gothic alt-rock. The album follows Curse Of Lono’s critically acclaimed debut EP,
released October 2016, which also formed the soundtrack to ‘Saturday Night’, a short
film of inter-connected music videos directed by Alex Walker. The film recently won
Best Music Video at the LA Independent Film Awards, the London Independent Film
Awards and Feel The Reel International Film Festival in Glasgow and has made the
official selection at the International Music Video Underground in LA and the
Sunlight International Film Festival in Moscow.

Founded and fronted by Felix Bechtolsheimer, formerly the singer-guitarist in British
roots pioneers Hey Negrita, Curse Of Lono formed in early 2015, though the songs
on ‘Severed’ were written over a 14-year period. They range from the perky, Paul
Simon-ish new single ‘Pick Up The Pieces’ to the more lugubrious ‘He Takes My
Place’, the almost jazzy ‘London Rain’ and the rootsy, rhythmic ‘Send For The
Whisky’. The album belongs as much to the Americana tradition and old faithfuls
such as Little Feat as it does to more modern, playful practitioners of the form such as
Wilco and Beck.
Lyrically, the songs cover themes including infidelity and sexual jealousy, the death
of friends, and Felix’s personal struggle with heroin addiction. “Although ‘Severed’ is
a dark record in places, it is not an addiction record,” says Felix. “It’s about growing
up enough to be able to share a drink with the ghosts of the past without letting them
push you around.”
Curse of Lono will be support act during the upcoming EU tour of Chuck Prophet.

Het muzikale palet van de half Algerijnse singer-songwriter Dalâl Marouf bestaat uit funk, rock, pop en de opzwepende woestijnmuziek van noordelijk Afrika. Haar muzikale helden zijn al even uiteenlopend: van Neil Youg en Pink Floyds David Gilmour tot raï-zanger Cheb Khaled en funkgitarist Nile Rodgers.

Dalâl heeft een indrukwekkende en veelzijdige carrière in de muziek. Ze schreef al op haar vijftiende eigen nummers, speelde in tientallen bands (waaronder Girls Wanna Have Fun), won met haar snijdende gitaarsolo’s de Amsterdamse Guitar Battle en toert al jaren als singer-songwriter door Nederland. Haar nieuwste single, Space Girl is een catchy en mysterieuze track, afkomstig van haar tweede lp (de opvolger van haar goed ontvangen debuutplaat Trust). Op haar nieuwe album experimenteert ze meer dan ooit met Noord-Afrikaanse ritmes.

In 2014 Claire Hall, Marlon Fulcher and Mike Horne formerly of Stonewood, teamed up with Rob Holmes (www.robholmesmusic.com) to form a new rock covers act for the east of England.

A working chemistry blossomed instantly and four years on, the band boast an impressive set list, and growing reputation for tight no nonsense performances, delivered with professionalism, fun, laughter and diversity.

With an ever expanding fan base, and set list, the four members have grown as a unit to improve one another not just as musicians but as friends.
