The formula of all these Soul Classics –with a swinging SOULQUAKE!-sauce- has the same effect everywhere: remaining motionless is not an option, you must dance! The 9-piece band consists of a pounding rhythmsection, combined with a horn-section, backing-girls and powerhous vocals.
A tribute to all styles of music by artists from the Seattle region. Playing songs from Jimi Hendrix to Macklemore, Queensryche to Pearl Jam, & much more!
In April of 2013, Seattle musician Jonny Smokes was once again touring Europe in support of his latest solo album when he had the idea of returning to Holland with a set of songs specifically from Seattle artists. When he mentioned this to his booking agent, a few simple phone calls were made and in a matter of minutes a backup band was assembled. The group met the very next evening at a jam night, played a few tunes, shared a few beers, and it was a perfect match of musicianship and personality.
Crowds were amazed by the band's delivery of musicianship and live energy, and pleasantly surprised by the diversity of styles performed. The obvious grunge and alternative hits of the 90's were interlaced with classics like Jimi Hendrix and Heart, 80's metal like Queensryche and Sanctuary, as well as modern hits by Modest Mouse, Deathcab For Cutie and even Macklemore! Combined with hits by Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Alice In Chains and Soundgarden, the true sounds of the multicultural musicianship of Seattle really comes to life when this group takes the stage!
Every crowd and venue on the tour was asking for more, so the band returned to Europe for another series of shows in the fall of 2014. With the enthusiasm and response growing with each new show, Sounds of Seattle has continued to expand with two additional European tours in 2015, and added an extra guitarist in 2016, freeing up Jonny to jump around and sing even more! 2017 looks like a wild year... stay tuned!
Intoxicating, hot and damp Southern Rock that will take you back to the Bayous and Backwoods. The greatest Rock Classics played in a unique Southern style.
This international Rockformation brings a tribute to the raw sound of the south of the United States. The repertoire consist of all time greatests by B.B. King, ZZ Top, Creedence Clearwater Revival, but also the British invasion has earned a spot io the wealthy setlist. So you can scream along with some Rolling Stones songs as well, like Jumping Jack Flash, Sympathy For The Devil and Angie.
You can expect a great night of Southern Rock, just like the bandname already suggests.
This five-piece from the Dutch town of Obdam love music too much to have to make choice. The repertoire of Spangle reflects this perfectly: ‘a bit of everything, as long as it’s fun’.
Marloes, Marcel, Gertjan, Lonneke and Andre know where the party’s at. It’s here for sure. The North-Hollanders started back in 2010 and have been perfecting their setlist to the point where it’s now as broad as it is tasty. Blues, rock, pop and soul are all well represented. From Amy Winehouse to Bryan Adams and from Bon Jovi to Fleetwood Mac. It should come as no surprise that singing along is advised tonight.
When singer Arjan Stender learned of Bowies unexpected death he was as shocked as any other fan. He quickly decided that Bowies music should live on forever. What better way than by creating a Bowie tribute band and perfom the unique Bowie sound live? Forming the band did not take long. All the musicians that he approached said yes immediately, so after just a few weeks The Spiders From Mars were complete and the first gigs were booked.
After having played numerous shows in the past 2 years, it is clear what sets The Spiders from Mars apart from the other Bowie tributes: the Spiders don't try to just imitate Bowie, but they try to grab the essence of every Bowie song as good as possible. Arjan is no Bowie lookalike but he has the perfect voice and sings the songs with an intensity as if he's written them himself. The band feels free to add an extra solo or instrumental part if felt appropriate, just like Bowie himself liked to sometimes change the songs around live. The result is an exciting trip through the career and musical styles of David Bowie, from Ziggy Stardust to the haunting Lazarus.
Spijkerrock is an unpretentious and unmistakably Amsterdam cover band. They come equiped with a repertoire full of classic rock tunes and turn every venue they play into a party.
The sets contain nothing but the hits. Timeless songs by the likes of Kings Of Leon, U2, Anouk, Oasis and Pink Floyd are well represented. Songs that we all know and love, that’s what a Spijkerrock show is all about. Lead singer Sonja van der Pijl, drummer Paul Heemskerk, bassist Michel Bijl and guitarists Manoel Ngyen and Peter Poortman guarantee a fun-filled night of golden oldies.
SPIT was formed in the summer of 2008 and is forged from a mutual love of the back bone elements of nineties rock music: gritty vocals, heavy guitars, a tight rhythm section and just a touch of aggression. Just a touch...
Their shows are energy packed, hard hitting and memorable and this has resulted in a track record they’re rightfully proud of. Since the start we have played hundreds of shows. Seven years into the journey that is SPIT we still have the same passion and energy and continue to expand our skills. Combining original material and ‘spitified’ covers we are able to bring the SPIT to any venue. Come see them if you don't believe it! We dare you.
Ask any regular about either Waste or Spit and they will tell you about the great nigths they have had during these bands' performances. Always a good vibe, the crowd is always dancing and you will be guaranteed a rocknight just how you would imagine it.
Occationally, these 2 waterhole regulars join in a big mashup. With members from both bands the setlist will be a combination of both repertoire-lists. This will be fun!
