This duo performs acoustic covers, mainly in the Pop, Soul and Jazz-genres. Guitarplayer Mick Temmink and singer Sara Spellerberg met each other at the conservatory of Haarlem where they are currently studying.
Schimanski was founded in 2004 and still performs in the in the same line-up. The band is characterised by covers of the best rock bands with a private "Schimanski" sound.
No cliché chats about how wonderful Schimanski is, with a ass-tight sound that you must have seen and heard etc.. etc.., all not very interesting. Schimanski kicks arse and that's it!
Schimanski's playlist consists of songs that are right there right in your face, played without baloney. Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Queens of the Stone Age and Foo Fighters, but also Cheap Trick and The Romantics are on Schimanski’s holy list. Schimanski goes for 110% and not the middle ground. Period.
This formation revolves around lead singer Mo and has been rocking stages with their pop and rock covers. They play heavy classic rock tunes, but mainly play well known songs from the pop history.
Alanis Morissette, Melissa Etheridge and Coldplay are on the repertoire, as well as heavy rock tracks by heroes like Guns N’ Roses, Foo Fighters and Metallica. The group hails from Hoofddorp, near Amsterdam, and has played on town squares, festivals and clubs all around the country. The strong vocals of singer Mo bring the robust tunes back to life. Her band consists of experienced musicians, who have long earned their stripes as live performers.
