Remember when you last went completely crazy over a band? When you could sing along to every single song until you lost your voice? Isn’t it great when every track on the repertoire is one you know and love?
#trendingtopic is back! this 70’s to 2000’s pop and rock coverband will keep you entertained for hours! You may have seen them before at the Waterhole, but now they’re back with a new singer, Lonneke (and it is not her first time @ the waterhole either!). Expect everything from Kelly Clarkson to Blondie, and from Queens of the Stone Age to Foo Fighters!
100% katoen (100% cotton) is a cover band that plays RRRock with a capitol R.
100% katoen acts since 2001 and already has strewn a lot of RRRockclassics and fun on it’s audiences of many pubs, festivals and parties.
The 5-piece band consists of experienced and enthusiastic musicians. The joint love for 70’s till 90’s rock has led to an infectious repertoire. Apparent, 100% commitment, unexpectedly and, wink, and firmly like cotton.
These ingredients provide a performance that every rock-fan will love!
10Electric thought of what other bands have seemed to have forgotten: songs everyone forgot to play. Songs of which you thaught: Why doesn’t anyone play them anymore?!
The band has an almost unhealthy appetite for hard-hitting rock ‘n roll. AC/DC, Thin Lizzy, Danzig, Peter Pan Speed Rock and Kiss, it’s just a small grasp of what they have in store. No gimmicks or other ornaments, just five dudes from Leiden. Raw, stomp-footin’, swingin’ and as original as playing other people’s songs can be!
They’ve been widely known in the Southwest of Holland. Time to conquer the big city! Their excellent versions of the best out of decades of pop history is the basis of 2 Big 4 Words’ show. The seven members of the group have been burning down the house for years and years.
Lead singer Jan Klapwijk is the leader, founder and driving force of the band. Without him there’s no 2 Big 4 Words and without 2 Big 4 Words no party! Working with acts like Robbie Valentine’s band Line and Jack In The Box made him the artist and true entertainer he is today. For what seems like ages, he’s been giving people around the country unforgettable nights of party-pleasure. With his fellow lead vocalist Gertruud ‘Tuut’ Scholte, he forms a dynamic duo not easily matched. While they’re the heart of the band, the rest of the group is not to be underestimated. This eclectic collective of musicians schooled in jazz, rock and pop carry the same party-gene, and join the festivities with crazy costumes, great singalongs and silly dance moves.
Every essential ingredient for a party of epic proportions are right here!
2Hot2Funk is a collaboration of four local session-musicians, who played together in countless projects in the Amsterdam area and far beyond. With this one, they keep the funklevel high, with plenty of room for classics.
Frontman Gregorio ‘Gregosaurus-Rex’ Rangel is the bass player of the notorious Amsterdam band Mosquito, Venezuelan metal band Laberinto and many other groups. In this 2hot2funk-formation he takes up the role of frontman, singing the lead vocals. Santanico-frontman Marco Toro’s one of the finest drummers you’ll find in Amsterdam. He and Gregorio take care of the rhythm section, Marcos Gomez completes the group on keys and vocals, and the leadguitar will be played by the one and only Pablo Minolli, de ex-guitarplayer in Laberinto, Ali B and Brainpower (amongst others). An eclectic allstar-collective with a great arsenal of material: classic rock, reggae and soul are all laced with some fat funk.
This singer from Amsterdam is a true diva. On every stage, she shines in the spotlights. And tonight, that stage is The Waterhole, where she performs a soulful show, full of funky and poppy tunes with some of her many musical partners.
But Farida Merville has earned her stripes long ago. Her career in music is a real adventure. At the end of the eighties, she made her debut and many different projects would follow. She worked with a seamingly endless list of great artists, like the late Thé Lau, Samantha Fox, Quazar and many other quintessential nineties acts. As a solo artist, she released a number of records. Her comeback-album Question Mark came out in 2010, on Chique Records. Tonight, she’ll once again be centre stage!

An energetic rock-coverband with experienced musicians. A huge repertoire of guitarsongs with a rough edge. The band’s mission is to transfer the spark into the audience by performing Britpop and American rock by The Doors, Foo Fighters, Oasis and many others. The bands loves small, hot pubs, but also big stages and above all: having fun woth the audience.
Allen Wrench & the Nuts is a trio that brings you a unpolished mix of swinging blues, surprising classics, honest rock and handcrafted original songs, straight from the heart.
The shows are based around enthousiasm, experience and pure love for playing live. They’re not in the least intersted in what would be ‘suitable’ or even ‘hip’. They simply play authentic, crafty tunes, showing an honest love for music in general. Dominik P. Sprenger (guitar and vocals), Ed ten Hoedt (bass and vocals) and Mozes Wolff (drums and vocals) combine blues, jazz and timeless classics in a fantastic way.
Alsof Je Een Koffer Bent is a suitcase filled with pop history. It’s like traveling from the deep South of the US to rainy England.
The suitcase sold his soul to the devil on the Crossroads and danced in his Baggy Trousers in the Purple Rain. This four-piece loves to take their bag of tricks to any town. Rest assured, it’ll be a night packed with singalongs. Joris IJland (keys / vocals), Daan Krakers (guitar / vocals), Jeroen Groot (drums / vocals) and Cas Kaptein (bass) guarantee a funfilled night. They can play for hours and hours, and then pack up again.

From the battlefields in Iraq to the legendary stage of Radio City Music Hall, the American Hitmen have done it all!
Brothers and Marine Corps Combat Veterans, Tim and Dan Cord, founded the band with fellow Marines and musicians in 2005. After serving 4 honorable years and 2 combat tours in Iraq, they decided to leave the Marine Corps to pursue a career in music in 2007. The brothers left the over-saturated Southern California music scene and moved to Utah, where they fell into true harmony with the addition of drummer, Phil Snyder, and bassist, Dave Briggs.
In late 2009, the band was invited to be the first American rock band in 36 years to perform in Vietnam. At the Ho Chi Minh City Hard Rock Café, the American Hitmen made brought a new and unfamiliar sound to the Vietnamese people, performing Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way” with none other than Run DMC in front of a sold-out crowd on the night of the Hard Rock grand opening.
In 2013, the band auditioned for and made it through 3 elimination rounds on Season 8 of America’s Got Talent, finishing out their run with a pitch perfect live and televised performance at Radio City Music Hall. With their new found popularity, the band hit the North American tour circuit with a fury! Within the last 3 years, the American Hitmen have performed alongside some of the most internationally recognized musicians, such as Foo Fighters, Living Colour, Black Stone Cherry, the Charlie Daniels Band, Sheryl Crow, 3 Doors Down, Social Distortion and many more!
In 2016, the band toured Europe and the UK once on their own in April, and were invited back for an Armed Forces Entertainment tour in June/July. In March of 2017, the Hitmen performed for the US military in Egypt, Romania, and Jordan, becoming the first band to ever perform at any of the bases in those countries!
The American Hitmen are definitely becoming the true definition of all things American and Rock ‘n’ Roll!
Sixties-until-now-infused-soul-swamp-funk-revue. That’s a pretty acurate discribtion of what you can expect from this local band, which is formed around guitar wizzard Professor Dr. Theo Holsheimer and vocal blizzard Miss Fruitella.
So here’s the recipe: take about a half teacup of rhythmic tambourine, a pound of fatback, soulful vocal chords, plenty tablespoons of smooth, boiling, rhythmic, funky guitars and just a pinch of a bumpin & grindin’ drum machine. And there you have it. Today’s Special is Amsterdam Soul Stew! They’ll take you by the hand for a walk down memory lane. James Brown, Lyn Collins, Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Jimi Hendrix, Aretha Franklin, Sly Stone, Jeff Beck, Funkadelic and more fantastic artists are on their setlist. Prepare yourself for a nostalgic and catchy roller coaster ride!
Still a young man, but the talented Brazilian singer, songwriter and composer Andrew Laureth began his professional carreer in music no less than twelve years ago.
He built this carreer quite meticulously. In 2003, his adventure started, with his first band Sixth Command. The next step would be A(L)titude, a Brazilian group that not only toured extensively through Brazil, but crossed the ocean to Europe. After two studio albums, and a very hectic tour schedule, which saw the band play Portugese, British, Italian and Dutch stages, it was time to stand on his own two feet. His solo debut So Much More came out in 2011. In 2014, he worked with American producer Michael Binder, which resulted in the release of his sophomore record Windows Of The Soul. During the accompanying tour, Laureth can not only draw from two albums of original material, but he’s put some great Brazilian classics in his repertoire as well. Andrew Laureth is making big moves towards becoming a big name. You can see this rising star now at The Waterhole!
Apelazerus: we play the songs that you know, only better! The seven-piece band brings a live show where rock, funk, hip hop and so on, effortlessly flow into each other.
With a strong singer, a floaty rapper and five lively musicians, the band does not only fill the stage but also the room (quickly!) with a danceable musical mix. Apelazerus performs their own versions of songs by: Gabriel Rios, Dr. Dre, André Hazes, Gorillaz, Blackstreet, Jimi Hendrix, Afroman, Electric Six, N.E.R.D. and Iron Butterfly. Apelazerus brings known and even more famous work, where each number yet again comes as a surprise.
It rocks, the feasts, it improvises, convinces, it's different, it knows to blow off the roof and it creates chaos ... That's exactly what "AR!E "stands for!
With the motto "Live everything is different" and armed with a Rock 'n Roll bus packed with guitars, amps and drums they have a history of more than 18 years of touring in the Netherlands and Belgium. And one can say with conviction: "AR!E came, AR!E saw and AR!E conquered'! Whether the gentlemen play in a pub or a mega party, it does not matter ... Not only the roof, but also the façade, will be blown off!
AR!E does not just guarantee a huge party ... With all their musical knowledge, creativity and love for rock & party they know exactly what the perfect show looks like: the beech of recognition should be there! AR!E is not afraid of improvisation, no show is the same and with unexpected medleys, mash-ups, fast changes between songs and a high interaction level they achieve a steaming party every time!
(Rock) songs from the years ' 60, ' 70, ' 80, ' 90 and now, but also dance-hits, everything will pass along at a high rate! AR!E is not comparable to many others, AR!E is an individual as a group that likes to share it's enthusiasm on stage with everyone else,AR!E is. ....AR!E !
AR!E was previously associated with Ruud de Wild at Q-Music, played in many party tents, halls, small pubs and festivals and shared the stage with, among others, BZB, WORK Experience, The Dirty Daddies, Rattlesnake Shake, Pater Moeskroen and The Heinoos!
BandaBordel is a Gypsy Punk Super Group, consisting of members of BandàpArt & QUEL BORDEL!
These five musicians have sold their souls to rock. They all share the same love for music, which gives them a near perfect on-stage chemistry. No wonder that Barking Bruce can call themselves the best cover band of the Benelux, after winning the Clash Of The Coverbands.
The reward: a full schedule and their very own single, Lena. The band was founded from the former members of Fast Forward and 10tation, two groups from the North of the province of Antwerp, that have build quite a name for themselves for their live performances. They’ve passed on this tradition with Barking Bruce. Grunge, punkrock, hiphop, it’s all well represented in their repertoire, thanks to a solid drummer (Kris Van Meel), a nimble bass player (Guy Roelands), two dynamic guitarists (Hans Doomen and Paul de Kooning), and last, but certainly not least, a extraordinary vocalist with a distinct and exceptional voice (Jef Broes). Classics and hits are part of the setlist, but the band’s known for their interpretations of hidden gems as well.
There is this place – an everyone probably has one somewhere – that emits a magical aurora. You don’t exactly know why but you always find your way back to it. It is a place full of secrets and even if you think you know everything, small moments happen which surprise you. And for this there are two possibilities, maybe even more. You curse this place for it’s unbearable attraction. For how it fascinates people and manipulates them. For how they throw away their own lives and become sick. A facade, a lie…hypocritical. Or you fall in love with it and it becomes the love of your life. The best thing that ever happened to you, the best decision you ever made is to stay there because you can be happy and free…like you always wanted. It is some kind of paradise for the spirit and heart. A paradise…or hell?
– This is the Berlin Syndrome
After founding the band in March 2014 the work of the five musicians Graeme Salt, Robert Meinel, Marcel Behrens, Mathias Wagner and Marvin Jiménez emerged pretty quickly. A fan base grew vastly in the first few weeks which supported the band in what they did. The summertime brought numerous gigs in clubs, bars and festivals. The band released their debut EP ‘All For The Good’ in September 2014 and produced a professional music video to the title track.
The sound of the band is influenced by different genres, such as Indie, Alternative and Post Rock and creates a profound atmosphere which appeals especially in the bands live performances. Playful, tender guitars, profound drums and bass combined with Graeme’s sonorous vocals yield impressive dynamics within the songs.
